Seasonal Heat Wave: Thunderstorms and Hail Predicted in Some Districts

While a severe heat wave is gripping the country, thunderstorms and hail are expected in some districts in the northeast and southern regions. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a chance of thunderstorms and hailstorms in various parts of Sylhet and Chittagong divisions for the next three days.

Weather Forecast:

• Tuesday (April 30) until evening: Temporary gusty or squally winds with rain and thunderstorms are likely to occur in different areas of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions. Hailstorms may also occur in some places.
• Rest of the country: The weather will mainly remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies.
• Heatwave: Intense heatwave will continue over Jessore, Chuadanga, Pabna, and Rajshahi districts, the remaining parts of Khulna and Rajshahi divisions, and over Dhaka division. Mild to moderate heatwave will continue over Mymensingh district and Barishal, Rangpur, and Chittagong divisions.
• Temperature: Daytime temperatures may rise across the country, while nighttime temperatures will remain mostly unchanged. Due to excess water vapor, discomfort will prevail.

Next 48 hours: The same type of weather conditions are likely to continue. However, daytime temperatures may decrease slightly across the country in the last 24 hours.

Extended Forecast (5 days): The tendency of rain and thunderstorms may increase across the country in the next 5 days, and temperatures may decrease.
