School Student Drowns in Suptadhara Waterfall, Sitakunda

Chittagong: A school student drowned in the Suptadhara Waterfall in Sitakunda. The deceased has been identified as Tahmid Mumtasir Chowdhury, an 18-year-old resident of Rauzan sub-district. Tahmid was preparing for his SSC examinations this year from the Chittagong Metropolitan Police School.

On Wednesday (April 17th) around 3 PM, locals spotted Tahmid’s body floating in the water and informed the police station. Police and fire service personnel arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

Initial investigation suggests that Tahmid, who couldn’t swim, entered the waterfall and subsequently drowned.

The victim’s father, Rfikul Islam Chowdhury, a businessman, has filed a case with the police over his son’s death.
