Metro Rail resumes service after Eid break
Dhaka: After the Eid al-Fitr holiday and the weekly break, the metro rail resumes service again today, Saturday (April 13th) morning.
The metro rail was closed last Thursday (April 11th), Eid day, and the following Friday (April 12th) due to the weekly holiday. As a result, the closure of this service for two consecutive days forced passengers to use alternative modes of transportation.
The metro rail authority said they decided to keep the metro rail closed on Eid day due to the expectation of fewer passengers and a reduced number of staff, which would have increased costs.
According to the current schedule, the first train will depart from Uttara North Station for Motijheel Station at 7:10 am. The first train from Motijheel Station will depart for Uttara North Station at 7:30 am.
The last train of the day will depart from Uttara North Station for Motijheel at 8:00 pm, and the last train from Motijheel Station for Uttara North Station will depart at 8:40 pm.
The resumption of the metro rail service is expected to ease traffic congestion in Dhaka to some extent.
