Prayers and rules of Taraweeh Namaz

 

Taraweeh Prayer:

Taraweeh prayer is an extra prayer performed after the Isha prayer during the month of Ramadan. It is considered one of the most important acts of worship during this month.

Rules of Taraweeh Prayer:

1. After the Isha prayer, two Rakats of Nafl (voluntary) prayer are performed.
2. It is recommended to perform Taraweeh prayer in congregation or individually every night during Ramadan.
3. The number of Rakats in Taraweeh prayer can vary, but it can be performed from 8 to 20 Rakats.
4. A short break is taken after every 4 Rakats. During this break, it is recommended to engage in Tasbih-Tahlil, recite Duas and Dhikr.

 

Dua after every 4 Rakats of Taraweeh Prayer:

 

سُبْحانَ ذِي الْمُلْكِ وَالْمَلَكُوتِ سُبْحانَ ذِي الْعِزَّةِ وَالْعَظْمَةِ وَالْهَيْبَةِ وَالْقُدْرَةِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْجَبَرُوْتِ * سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْحَيِّ الَّذِيْ لَا يَنَامُ وَلَا يَمُوْتُ اَبَدًا اَبَدَ سُبُّوْحٌ قُدُّوْسٌ رَبُّنا وَرَبُّ المْلائِكَةِ وَالرُّوْحِ

 

Subhana dhil-mulki wal-malakoot, subhana dhil-‘izzati wal-azmati wal-haybati wal-qudrati wal-kibriya’i wal-jabaroot. Subhanal Malikil-Hayyil-ladhi la yunaamu wa la yamoot, Subbuhun Quddus, Rabbuna wa Rabbul-mala’ikati war-ruh.

Translation:
“Glory be to the Owner of the Kingdom and the dominion, glory be to the Possessor of power, magnificence, awe, might, grandeur, and authority. Glory be to the King, the Living, who never sleeps nor dies. Glorified and Holy is our Lord, the Lord of the angels and the Spirit.”

 

Monajat (Supplication) during Taraweeh Prayer:

Prayer for seeking forgiveness from Allah:

اَللَهُمَّ اِنَّا نَسْئَالُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَ نَعُوْذُبِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ يَا خَالِقَ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارِ- بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَاعَزِيْزُ يَا غَفَّارُ يَا كَرِيْمُ يَا سَتَّارُ يَا رَحِيْمُ يَاجَبَّارُ يَاخَالِقُ يَابَارُّ – اَللَّهُمَّ اَجِرْنَا مِنَ النَّارِ يَا مُجِيْرُ يَا مُجِيْرُ يَا مُجِيْرُ- بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّحِمِيْنَ

Allahumma innā nas’aluka al-jannata wa na’ūdhu bika minan-nāri, yā Khāliqal-jannati wan-nāri, bi-rahmatika yā ‘Azīzu yā Ghaffāru yā Karīmu yā Sattāru yā Rahīmu yā Jabāru yā Khāliqu yā Bārru, allahumma ajirnā minan-nāri yā Mujīru yā Mujīru yā Mujīru, bi-rahmatika yā Arhamar-Rahimīn.

 

Translation:
“O Allah, we ask You for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire, O Creator of Paradise and the Fire. By Your mercy, O Mighty, O Forgiving, O Generous, O Concealer, O Merciful, O Compeller, O Creator, O Good, O Allah, protect us from the Fire, O Rescuer, O Rescuer, O Rescuer, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.”

These are the basic guidelines, prayers, and supplications associated with Taraweeh prayer during the month of Ramadan.
