2 brokers arrested in Chittagong Medical

**Two Brokers Arrested at Chittagong Medical College Hospital for Exploiting Patients:**

Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) witnessed the apprehension of two brokers by the police on Monday (January 21). The arrest was made around 12 PM in front of the Casualty Department, following allegations of manipulating patients to purchase medicines from outside and facilitating transfers to various hospitals.

The arrested individuals are identified as Rafiq (35) and M. Monsur (35). Rafiq hails from Chandanaish in Chittagong and is the son of the late Haji Mia, the landlord of Syed Master’s house. Monsur, on the other hand, is the son of the late Abul Hossain and resides in the New Market area of Chittagong.

Nurul Alam Asheq, the In-charge of the Police Raid at CMCH, stated that the brokers were creating disturbances by persuading patients to buy medicines from external sources and urging them to shift to different hospitals. Acting on this information, the police apprehended both individuals near the Casualty Department. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them.

This incident follows a series of arrests targeting members of the broker network involved in exploiting vulnerable patients at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Authorities are taking stern actions to curb such practices and ensure the welfare of patients within healthcare institutions.
