The Ministry of Education has announced a new decision through the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (Maushi) regarding the closure of schools in various districts due to intense winter conditions. The directive states that if the maximum temperature in any district falls below 10 degrees Celsius, the secondary level schools in that district will remain closed until further notice. The decision comes as a response to the severe cold affecting normal academic activities for students.
In the press release, Maushi mentioned that the intense cold weather has disrupted the regular routines of students, prompting the need for such measures. The regional deputy directors will coordinate with education officials in those districts to keep secondary level educational institutions closed until the temperature rises above 10 degrees Celsius.
Furthermore, the Meteorological Office reported a record low temperature of 9.7 degrees Celsius in Shrimangal on Tuesday morning, making it the lowest recorded temperature of the day. Additionally, there is a possibility of rainfall on January 17, 18, and 19, and the temperature is expected to decrease further in the coming days, according to Maushi.
