Local Government Day 2025 Observed in Jagannathpur

The National Local Government Day was observed in the conference hall of Jagannathpur Upazila Parishad, Sunamganj. On Tuesday (February 25) at 11:00 AM, a discussion meeting was held in the Upazila Parishad conference hall, organized by the Upazila Parishad and Jagannathpur Municipality.
The meeting was presided over by Jagannathpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Md. Barkat Ullah. In his speech, he emphasized strengthening local government to facilitate better public service delivery. He also announced that all markets in Jagannathpur Upazila would be monitored to control commodity prices during Ramadan.
Speakers at the discussion meeting included Abu Huraira Saad Master, convener of Jagannathpur Upazila BNP and educationist; Dr. Khaled Saifullah, Upazila Livestock Officer; Sohrab Hossain, Upazila Engineer (LGED); Satish Goswami, Municipal Engineer; Helal Abedin, Municipal Executive Officer; and journalist Shah Fuzayel Ahmad.
The discussion meeting was attended by Md. Shahjahan Mia, General Secretary of Jagannathpur Upazila Press Club; former Chairman of Patli Union Parishad Askir Ali; Municipal BNP Convener Salauddin Mithu; Academic Supervisor Arup Kumar; Upazila Assistant Education Officer Md. Masum Billah; Agriculture Officer Tapan Chandra Shil; Assistant Tax Collector Abdus Salam; Municipal Chief Assistant Ranjit Chandra Shil; Contractor Supervisor Bipresh Chandra Moitra; Freedom Fighter Son Commander Aziz Mia; and many other individuals from various professions.
