Vidya Balan: I will give money for making toilets. Don’t give for religious establishment.
Bollywood actress Vidya Balan said that she does not donate money for religious structures. However, she claims to be a spiritual person and said that she regularly performs puja (prayer).
She said this during the promotion of her recently released film ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’.
Commenting on the current situation in India regarding religion, Vidya Balan said, “India is now a big believer in polarization when it comes to religion. People are leaning towards their religious identities. We didn’t see such a scene in the country before, but the situation has changed a lot now.”
She further added, “If someone asks for money to build a hospital, school, or toilet, I will definitely donate. But I will not donate any money for the construction of a religious structure.”
Refusing to comment on politics, Vidya Balan said, “I don’t want to say anything about politics because if I say something, there might be calls to boycott the movie.”
Vidya Balan’s film ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ is directed by Shashank Ghosh. The film stars Ileana D’Cruz, Pratik Gandhi, and Senthel Ramamurthy alongside Vidya Balan.
