There is no good news about rain in the weather report
Dhaka, Bangladesh: People across Bangladesh are struggling in the scorching heat as an intense heatwave persists for the fifth day. Many areas have witnessed special prayers for rain, but the weather forecast offers little hope.
On Tuesday, April 23rd, Ishwardi in Pabna district recorded the highest temperature at 40.5 degrees Celsius (104.9 degrees Fahrenheit). Dhaka sweltered at 38.4 degrees Celsius (101.1 degrees Fahrenheit).
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department predicts the heatwave to continue for the next 72 hours, particularly severe in Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jessore, and Patuakhali districts. Moderate heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in remaining parts of Dhaka, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.
There’s a slight chance of rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds in one or two places of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions on Wednesday, the first day of the forecast period. Hailstones are also possible. Elsewhere in the country, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies.
On Thursday, the second day, rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds are forecast for one or two places in Sylhet division. There’s a possibility of isolated hailstorms as well.
No rain is predicted for Friday, the third day. The entire country is likely to experience mostly dry weather with partly cloudy skies.
The extended forecast for the next five days also indicates no significant change in weather conditions.
