Son Assaults Retired BDR Soldier Father in Tangail
Tangail, April 21: In a domestic dispute, a son allegedly beat up his retired Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) soldier father this morning in Kandilla village, Gala union, Sadar upazila, Tangail.
The injured man has been identified as Md. Selim Khan (60), a retired BDR soldier. His accused son is Md. Sohag Khan (35).
According to family members, Selim Khan and his son Sohag Khan had been involved in a long-standing family feud. This morning, the argument escalated into a physical altercation, and Sohag Khan allegedly beat his father, leaving him injured.
Locals rescued the injured Selim Khan and admitted him to Tangail General Hospital. Hospital authorities reported finding several injuries on Selim Khan’s body.
The accused son, Sohag Khan, has been absconding since the incident. Police arrived at the scene after receiving news of the incident. Based on the complaint filed by the injured man’s wife, police have registered a case and begun their investigation.
