Policemen cannot go home with motorcycles on Eid
During this Eid, police personnel will not be allowed to take motorcycles home. An order has been issued from the Police Headquarters on Sunday (March 21) regarding this matter.
According to the letter, a meeting was held at the Police Headquarters on March 12 under the chairmanship of the Inspector General of Police regarding the use of motorcycles by police personnel. It was from this meeting that the directive not to take bikes home was issued.
During the holidays, police personnel must deposit their motorcycles, and after joining work at the end of the holiday, they must obtain motorcycles again. If a member does not deposit their motorcycle during the holiday, they will be informed of departmental arrangements through a letter.
Furthermore, even if someone manages to obtain a motorcycle, they must have a valid driving license for highway use. No member can use a bike without a valid license.
Reasons:
1. Prevention of road accidents: The rate of fatalities in motorcycle accidents involving police personnel is significantly high. It is believed that preventing accidents is possible through this directive.
2. Ensuring valid licenses: Many police personnel do not have valid driving licenses. Through this directive, all members will be compelled to obtain licenses.
3. Discipline maintenance: Traffic congestion increases during Eid. If police personnel use motorcycles, it can exacerbate the congestion. Through this directive, discipline can be maintained.
Response:
Mixed reactions have been observed among police personnel regarding this directive. Some believe that it will help prevent accidents, while others think it will increase their inconvenience.
Alternative arrangements:
Authorities are considering alternative transportation arrangements for police personnel. Assistance will be provided for booking tickets for buses, trains, and launches.
