Obaidul Quader, the General Editor of Awami League, has received a phone call from the Cabinet Division regarding the swearing-in ceremony. Formerly responsible for the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges in the previous cabinet, Obaidul Quader is expected to take the oath for the new ministerial position.
The Cabinet Division has officially invited newly appointed cabinet members to take the oath in an upcoming formal event. This follows the earlier confirmation by the Secretary of the Cabinet Division, Mr. Mahbub Hossain, regarding the formal invitations for the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet. The new ministers are scheduled to take their oaths on Thursday evening at the Ganabhaban, with President Mohammad Sahabuddin administering the oath. Following the oath-taking, the newly appointed members of the cabinet will sign their respective oath sentences.
This development comes after President Sahabuddin approved the appointment of Sheikh Hasina as the Prime Minister and expressed support for the formation of a new cabinet. The proclamation, released earlier, stated that Sheikh Hasina, having the majority support in the Twelfth National Parliament, will lead the new cabinet. The dissolution of the current cabinet is considered a necessary step in the formation of the new government.
