Intense Heat Continues in Most Parts of Bangladesh, Rain Likely in Some Areas
Dhaka, April 24: While intense heat persists in most parts of the country, there is a chance of rain in some areas of the north-eastern region. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s 72-hour forecast issued Wednesday night predicts temporary gusty or strong winds with rain or thunderstorms in one or two places of Sylhet division within the next 24 hours. Scattered hail showers are also possible alongside the rain.
Heatwave to Continue in Dhaka, Khulna, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barishal, Mymensingh, Chattogram
The Meteorological Department has informed that heatwave will continue in these divisions. Day and night temperatures throughout the country are likely to remain mostly unchanged.
Change in Weather from Friday
The Meteorological Department further said that the weather might start changing from Friday (April 26) evening 6 pm onwards. Temporary gusty or strong winds with rain or thunderstorms are possible in one or two places of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during this time. Scattered hail showers are also possible in some areas.
Caution Advised Against Heatwave
The intense heat is causing various health problems for people across the country. The Meteorological Department has urged everyone to drink plenty of water, wear light clothes, and take precautions while going outdoors.
