Human Chain in Protest Against False Case Against BNP Leader in Rajshahi

A human chain was held demanding the withdrawal of a false case filed against Md. Saeed Ali, Joint Convener of Rajshahi Metropolitan Volunteer Party.
The event took place on Sunday (January 26) at 11:30 AM at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point, organized by the Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP and the Volunteer Party. Leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations, along with people from various professions, participated in the protest.
Speakers at the human chain included Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP Member Secretary Joni, Senior Joint Conveners Russel Babu, Joint Conveners Shiblu, Tuhin, Jitu, Ibrahim, Rentu, Asad, Petra, and Senior Joint Convener of Boalia Thana (West) Md. Sharif Ali.
The speakers claimed that the case against Saeed Ali is part of political vengeance and an attempt to create division in the political arena. They alleged that Saeed Ali was wrongfully accused in an attack on a Jubo Dal leader’s house due to a dispute over interest money.
They further stated that on the day of the incident, Saeed Ali was at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital visiting an injured Volunteer Party worker, which is supported by CCTV footage. Additionally, video footage from the day before the incident does not show Saeed Ali at the scene where the assailants gathered.
The speakers urged the government, stating, “To ensure the democratic rights of the people and to put an end to political revenge, the false case against Saeed Ali must be withdrawn immediately.”
Members of the victim’s family were also present at the human chain and made an earnest appeal to the government for justice.
