Incident Description:
Teacher Mostafizur Rahman Zakir was walking home on Sunday evening after dropping off a retired teacher. On the way, Touhidul Islam Chan and his teenage gang stopped him, pointing a pistol at his stomach. Fearing for his life, Zakir could not scream. Chan’s accomplices then attacked him with sticks and hammers, inflicting a head injury. Believing him dead, they left him there and fled. Locals found Zakir and took him to the upazila health complex for treatment.
Police Involvement:
Police visited the scene after learning about the incident. The accused remain at large. Rajapur police station OC Ataur Rahman stated that legal action will be taken once a complaint is filed.
