Eligibility and Conditions for Old Age Allowance

 

Eligibility Criteria:

Age: Must be 65 years for males and 62 years for females.
Permanent residency: Must have been residing permanently in the respective Union/ Municipality for at least 10 years.
Income: Annual average income must be less than the government-defined amount (currently 10,000 Taka).
Land ownership: Must not own any land. In case of having less than 0.5 acres of land excluding residential property, it will be considered landless.
Occupation: Must not be employed in government service or receiving a pension.
Others: Priority will be given to physically disabled, widows, divorced individuals, polygamous, childless, and individuals separated from their families.

 

Terms and Conditions:

Birth certificate/National ID: A verified photocopy of the birth certificate/National ID must be submitted with the application.
Income proof: Proof of income (such as land ownership certificate, Union council certificate) must be submitted with the application.
Others: Other conditions specified by the government must be fulfilled.

           Application Process:

Application forms must be collected from the respective Union council/Municipality office.
Completed application forms along with necessary documents must be submitted to the respective Union council/Municipality office.
The application forms will be verified and selected by the Union council/Municipality.
A list of eligible candidates will be prepared through verification and selection.
The list will be sent to the Upazila/District Social Welfare Department.
The final list will be prepared by the Upazila/District Social Welfare Department.
The candidates included in the final list will receive the elderly allowance.
