Discussion Meeting on “Measures to Combat and Prevent Corruption” Held in Jagannathpur

On the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day, a discussion meeting titled “The Context of Anti-Corruption Day and Measures to Combat and Prevent Corruption” was held in Jagannathpur, Sunamganj.
The event took place on Monday (December 9) at 10 AM in the conference hall of the Upazila Parishad, organized by the Jagannathpur Upazila Administration and the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee.
The Chief Guest of the program was Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Barkat Ullah.
The meeting was presided over by the President of the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, Muhibur Rahman, and conducted by Maulana Nizam Uddin Jalali. Special remarks were delivered by Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Jagannathpur Police Station Joynal Ahmed, Upazila Engineer Sohrab Hossain, Livestock Officer Khaled Saifullah, and former Upazila BNP President Abu Horaira Saad.
During the open discussion, contributions were made by Sanwar Hasan Sanu, General Secretary of the Jagannathpur Press Club; journalists Abdul Hai, Abdul Wahid, and Shah Fuzayel Ahmed; Samsu Mia Sujan, General Secretary of the Upazila Al-Islah; and Abdur Rahman Jewel, Organizing Secretary of the Upazila Jamiat.
Speakers emphasized that corruption has infiltrated every aspect of society, stating that any unethical practice constitutes corruption. They asserted that merely preventing corruption is not enough; it must be eradicated. They highlighted the importance of adhering to moral and ethical principles to combat corruption effectively.
The speakers also stressed the need for collective unity in the fight against corruption, remarking that without societal integrity, national integrity cannot be achieved.
