Clash Erupts in Jajira, Shariatpur over Facebook Post, 4 Injured

Supporters of Union Parishad (UP) chairman Kuddu Bepari and his rival Jalil Madbar clashed in Bilaspur Union of Jajira sub-district, Shariatpur over dominance in the area.

At least 4 people were injured in the incident.

Locals said the long-standing dispute over dominance escalated on Wednesday morning after a Facebook post.

Hazrat Rahman Madbar, a supporter of UP chairman Kuddu Bepari, posted a provocative statement on Facebook, saying “If you were born, come face me and fight. The game starts tomorrow morning.”

This status triggered tension in the morning and led to a clash.

Supporters of both sides hurled bombs at each other. Police reached the spot.

Police intervened and brought the situation under control.

The injured were admitted to Jajira sub-district health complex.

Police are preparing to take legal action over the incident.
