In Mollahat, Bagherhat, an allegation of assault has been made by a ninth-grade male student against a third-grade female student. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the Kulia area of the upazila. According to reliable sources, the incident took place in the house rented by Mohammad Abul Kalam and his son, Sohan (15), who is the son of Seema Begum. They allegedly lured the child with a doll made of small pieces of cloth (a small garment) and assaulted her inside their residence.

In critical condition, she was quickly transferred to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital from the Mollahat Upazila Health Complex. Medical professionals, fearing for her life, referred her to the nearby Gopalganj Sadar Hospital. The doctors, with a medical certificate, informed that the victim is still in critical condition.
Sohan’s mother, Seema Begum (45), mentioned that she used to attend a sewing training workshop in Bagerhat, while her husband, Abul Kalam (a truck driver), was on a trip to Chittagong. Therefore, both of her sons, Sohag and Sohan, were at home. She expressed shock over the incident and stated that if her son is found guilty, legal action should be taken against him.
The Officer-in-Charge of the local police station, Ashraful Islam, reported that Sohan (15) has been apprehended in connection with the assault allegations.
