Amazon opens new fulfillment center in Memphis, Tennessee
Memphis, Tennessee, January 4, 2024
Amazon opened a new fulfillment center in Memphis, Tennessee, on Wednesday. The center, which is located in the Southwind Industrial Park, is Amazon’s 17th fulfillment center in Tennessee.
The center is 850,000 square feet and will employ approximately 1,500 full-time employees. The center will house a variety of products, including electronics, apparel, and home goods.
“We are excited to open our newest fulfillment center in Memphis,” said Dave Clark, CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer. “This center will create thousands of new jobs and help us to better serve our customers in the Mid-South.”
The opening of the center is a major economic development for Memphis. The center is expected to generate $1.2 billion in economic activity over the next 10 years.
