Habiganj: Land Grab in Madhabpur Using Muscle Power: Nishu Chowdhury Feels Insecure

 

Madhabpur: Allegations have surfaced of a 10 lakh taka property + house grab using muscle power in Deogaon village of Bahra Union No. 3, Madhabpur Upazila, Habiganj. Victim Nishu Chowdhury, who has been subjected to harassment, has alleged that Arif, the son of the deceased Bachir Uddin, has forcibly entered his vacant house and is living there, threatening to evict him.

Incident Description:

Nishu Chowdhury lives in Dhaka. He has an ancestral property in Deogaon village. A few days ago, he had allowed Arif to look after his house. However, when Nishu Chowdhury later came to the village and tried to enter the house, Arif prevented him from entering and claimed the house as his own.

Nishu Chowdhury alleges that Arif has threatened to kill him and also threatened to drive his family out of the village. Helpless, Nishu Chowdhury filed a complaint with Kashinagar Thana. However, Nishu Chowdhury has alleged that the police have not yet taken any action.
